Greetings,
Each year I make a plea for people to post their results. I have been building a database of actuals that I use for helping people estimate their melons. It's pretty much selfish on my part, but hopefully it helps you also. I will make a copy of the data tables available to anyone that wants it.
Here's what I like to see, in the order of importance.
Grower Name Official Weight in pounds Visual Straight Length in inches Girth - Belly measure vertical to ground Circumference - Around the melon horizontal to ground OTT Side to Side OTT End to End

Holy crap Marty, that must have looked like a wagon wheel. 62 girth is amazing. 26.5 length is problematic. Any idea how long the fruit was at pollination?

I would add Marty, that a 62 girth puts the melon in the world class size, providing you could add 13 inches to the length.
