Yesterday I took a good look at my melons...yep there is finially one that is about 6-8 inches long, altho somewhat funny shapped. I did notice some small ones on the other plants. Now to really pay attention and grow a big one.

At this point, I have eight plants, and each plant has at least two good shaped growing melons. Some even have melon large enough that I now have them tented in to protect them from the sun. My largest melon is about 4 to 5 pounds.
It does bother me that the nicest looking starter melons come in after July 4th, which is somewhat my drop dead date for setting melons.
