If you live in an area where wild or demestic animals are present. Try not to feed them any of your pumpkins because once they get a taste for them they will want more. If you have already done this I would suggest a fence and to stop feeding it to them

Didn't the Romans eat lead? I think I remember from High school that they used lead cups, plates, forks, spoons, etc.

If you leyt them eat a round of lead you'll have over a hundred pounds of venicen and you can eat that with a couple hundred pounds of pumpkin and squash

I saw that Johnny's Seeds now has a motion detector hooked up to a water sprinkler. Since most animals do not like a surprise of water on them it might work instead of building a fence. It only cost around $70... Tom
