In postioning the fruit for further growth do I cut the leaf and the runner right next to the Pumpkin.I have already severed the tap root for 2 nodes in each direction. Thank you in advance

Hi Desnow! You definately want to trim off vines and tendrils near the pumpkin. I usually leave the leaves on while pumpkin is small to shade it from the hot sun. As the fruit grows, you'll want to trim leaves off near pumpkin, or the wind can make the leaves scratch the skin.At this time I advise you put up a shade structure.
