Hi all , well I guess I did not do so well for my first try at this. Jake got to 176 pounds and then the vine broke. My question is since he is this big will he last a long time like a pumpkin does in the fall or will he rotten very quickly? It has been almost a week and I see no changes in him yet.I would like to enjoy him for a little while.

Mature pumpkins tend to last a long time. However I wouldn`t expect non-ripe pumpkins to survive too long. Enjoy them while you can, and set another fruit. There is still enough time to grow a large pumpkin by Halloween!Good luck, don`t give up.
