My kids and I are new to growing AG. We recently got our soil test back from University of AR via the Cooperative Extension Service. Here are the results. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brian and 4 kids.

Brian, What is the OM level? CEC could be raised with additions of OM.

This lab does not test for OM. How does the other stuff look?

Balance and ph is pretty darn good. I would like to see the OM level raised some, which would bring up the CEC closer to 20. You can add vermiculite, perlite or my favourite calcined clay to raise CEC quickly. Calcined clay has many trade names. Profile is the most often used on golf course greens and baseball diamonds. It has enourmous porosity to hold air and absorb water and nutrients thereby increasing the CEC and it lasts virtually forever in the soil. Used on golf greens to prevent or reduce compaction from foot and machinery traffic it reduces the need for mechanical aeration of the soil. Used in your garden it can be a wonder product too by allowing the roots too transpire and absorb nutrients much easier.

I'm with Gordon... GO UTES!

I assume the salinity is 1.00 and not 100!
