No tears please. I have beer (old stuff) and I want to add it to the patch. It seems to be beneficial to the mulch pile. My questions is should I add the beer now and let it winter or add the beer in the spring. If this is a negative step please let me know.

!!! You need to pre-process the beer first: Drink some cans preferably in the evening. The process of eliminating excess of alcohol will begin in seconds. In an hour or so it will be further enriched in nitrogen and ready for disposal directly on the mulch pile.

I would have to agree with Shannon process the beer first. I think I read in the Bible or constitution or something like that its either a sin or aginst the law to dump beer or waste beer.lol I would think the best time to dump the beer in your patch would be in the spring when the soil warms up i think the micro organizims feed of the sugars in the beer. mark

Before you dump beer into your patch, remember this: Snails and slugs are very attracted to beer! If you dump it directly into your patch you're rolling out the red carpet for a slug infestation like you have never seen before. Keep in mind that one of the greatest snail/slug traps is a small tin can (like a cat food tin) sunk into the ground so the top is even with the ground, then filled with beer. It draws them like a magnet.

If anyone has a college or party house in your immediate area with few stale kegs of stinky warm flat beer I think it may be a beneficial addition to the big organic pile...lol

If you pour the beer in the patch, you had better hope you are growing a silver bullet seed. I tried it a few years back, and remember the results.. Let me see if I can find that picture.. hmm where did I put that..

i also prefer to process my beer 1st as well (right rock) and i think if i screw the recipe up ray adriance can save my bacon but 1 can beer , 1 can coke , 1 cup amonia, 1 cup dish soap ivory works best as it has very few impurities mix together and then take 2oz of that mix to 1 gallon water and cover the soil use as much as needed also it can be used as a foliar feed
