I was doing my typical old posts searching here (my idea fun) and came across a link to the Mallorn list. This is what I found, Brett posted this on Halloween, 1997.

The Devil came down to Canby
and he was lookin for some soil to steal
he was in a bind, his plants way behind,
and he was willin to make a deal.

He came across a young man
starting a pumpkin in a fertile plot
he jumped upon a nearby stump
and said boy let me tell ya what.

I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a Pumpkin grower too
and if you'd care to take a dare I'll make a bet with you.
You grow a pretty big pumpkin boy but give the devil his due,
I'll bet a pumpkin of gold against your soil cause I think I'm better than
you.

The boy said "my names The Guru and it might be a sin,
but I'll take that bet, you're gonna regret,
cause i'm the best the best theres ever been.

(1st Corus)
Guru, fertilize that pumpkin patch and till that soil hard
cause hells broke loose in Canby and the devils in your yard.
If you win you'll get that giant pumpkin made of gold,
but if you lose the devil gets your soil....

The devil opened up his tool shed and said I'll start this show
and fire flew from his fingertips as he sharpened up his hoe.
He pulled that hoe across the ground and it made an evil hiss
His team of weeders joined in and it looked a little something like this....
