My 961 Daletas withstood a minor explosion last night. Some punks stuck a 2 liter bottle with a explosive mixture in it. It was loud! The pumpkin went 2% light, but the walls held together. No damage. They must of thought about this for some time, they usually just kick the face in. Oh well, the pumpkins are coming down today. I feel like I won the war last night.

As i was cleaning up halloween stuff late last night , a truck load of high school kids stopped and asked if the could have my biggest pumpkin. It took 5 of them to load it, as they were leaving all I said to them was "don't do anything too stupid with it". You've got to let kids have their fun.

they probably used some picalo pete powder in the bottle. It's mainly just a loud explosion.

hee hee, well i do know from experience that the walls of AG's can absorb quite a bang. my guess was dry ice. plenty of time to escape with that setup. baking soda & vinegar can be just as powerful, but if there was nothing left but the plastic shreds, i would bet on the dry ice. M-1000's are barely enough to crack the shell of a 150-200 pounder. quite fun in a very redneck sort of way. i could go on, but we don't need project eschelon putting bp under the microscope, lol.

Well when the local radio station dropped my 671 from 50 ft. ... (i removed the seeds and added about 20 gallons of water...) the result was it didn't fair well :) ... lots and lots of little pieces of pumpkin.... but that was the objective ... the funny thing was they tried to drop it on a car ... but missed ! lol ! it hit on the pavement right behind the car. but it was still great.

My neighbor had the same thoughts as Ben. To warn me of trouble,I set up a motion detector Scarecrow that sprays water. When that went off my dog started barking, then the explosion. I was out seconds after the blast. A second one when off in the bushes. I think they threw it there after the scarecrow blasted them with water. I nearly crapped in my pants when that one went off. It was about 5 feet from me.

Ahhh that brings back some fond memories.....but I'm going to have to plead the 5th to keep from incriminating myself. LOL

yup - i agree - probably not a dry ice one ... they take longer to go off ... typically 30 sec or so ... depending on how one mixes them... not that I personally would know... that's just what I heard.

Hey guys,

Here's a idea to get back a pumkin smashers who destoy small pumpkins. Heres what you do. You take Karo corn syrup ( the clear stuff you buy at the store). Then you mix it in a coffe can with greasy cat poop or some other vile substance. Now you pread it on the pumpkin before you go to bed. Now when the Pumpkin smashers come buy they'll get their hands covered with a rotten stinky mess. That will teach them. It's great for a laugh. lol!
