I just finished digging my garden, now I'm looking for suggestions on where to plant in that garden. It's approximately 40 feet by 15 feet, on the back and the sides the garden drops 2 feet into a wet boggy area, off the front it's a hard packed clay type soil. The plants could run as far as they wanted in any direction. Any suggestions for how and where to plant so I get the most out of my garden? I'm not necessarily looking for world records here, I'd like to get 1 decent pumpkin to grow big, and a couple of good boat sized pumpkins as well.

mountie best bet might be to start in the middle and run opposite each other ( back to back )
either north and south or east and west ( which ever one lets you run the 20 ft you will have for the main )-- this will allow only 7 and 1/2 ft for your sides though
if you want longer sides you will need to plant just the opposite and have 10 ft sides and 15 ft for the main ( run the plants from each end of patch to meet in the middle
