I saw a pic tonite of the "new" New Brunswick record pumpkin, weighing 1036 pounds. I forget the ladys name who owns it, but her last name is Kent. It was grown in Mount Pleasant, near Woodstock, N.B. Apparently, it was grown from seed that someone in Ottawa gave her. Would anyone happen to know who gave her the seed? I sure would love to get hold of one of those... or has anyone else got any extra seeds out of some nice big ones they would care to share?? (Hubby and I did take first and second in a local weighoff with our 348 and 321 pounders...but we were the only ones to enter. LOL.) I am down 100 pounds from my personal best (last year )

The seed just happens to be the famous 842 Eaton. BTW, the official "New Brunswick" record is 1101 pounds grown by Bill Northrup. It was weighed at Windsor Nova Scotia, the only official weighoff site in the Maritimes.

Can't spare an 842 Eaton, however the wifes 727 is doing not to bad, one for sure over 1,000 lbs maybe more by the end of Oct.

I got my info from a local newspaper. Guess they were wrong...and that poor lady thinks she is the provincial champ. Hope someone tells her. Anyhow, she got $500.00 in prize money. So the weighoff is in Windsor, N.S.? I did not know that. That just might be in my travel plans next year. Do a lot of you attend?
