Because Thanksgiving Point is not having a weihg off, there will be a weighing held at J&L Garden Center in Bountiful Utah. It will be this Saturday Oct. 9th. Starting at 2:00 PM. Gordon Tanner will be weighing his pumpkins there. We hope that his big one goes heavy and breaks 1000 lbs. Hope to see many there. Kenny Blair

Hope you UT. guys break the 1000+ , can not say much for us here in Colo. to the east of you, as 1000 may be double what any of us here have in Colo. this season due to nature being very bad to us this season...Good luck Kenny and all of you UT. growers to get a new UT. record ..:-)......JK

I'm on call or I would be there. Best of luck. Sounds like Gordon is almost guaranteed a new State record! Sorry Gordon don't want to Jinx you.

thanks ... I don't think it will go 1,000 lb. there is a small outside change ... but it would have to go 10% heavy. There were some depressions on the sides - where i place my foot to measure front to back and circ... and where the side to side measurments go... I was subtracting some off but apparently it wasn't enough... on Saturday I filled those in level and remeasured it - the side to side was smaller than before. as it sits now the OTT is 354 1/4 or 909 lbs.

I haven't found one of your updates in my inbox in a while Gordon. I'm looking forward to learning the outcome of your efforts this year. Regardless of the weights you have done an awesome job and it's been fun to follow. Good luck. Chris
