This year at Barnsville Pumpkin fest I had a chance to enter my perfect shaped bright orange 370 sum pound pumpkin and didnt. Lesson learned. I had no idea they was taken diffrent catagory pumpkins, closest to 200, 300, 400 500, ect, ect, They was taken the top 3 in each weight class. I Could have won 75.00 and a chance to show off what I had spent all of my summer growing. I Just wanted to tell everyone if you grow a pumpkin, Enter it. You deserve that to your self for all the hard work you put into your pumpkin. You never know, you just might win something LOL, after all you are growing it for a world record, for fun and bragging rights right? Just cause you know it isnt the biggest doesnt mean you dont have to enter it like I did...... and now regretting it.
I had a great first year growing this year with a 572 EST and 374 EST and would like to thank Lisa Wentzell for the seeds and all the people here on BP.COM for all there help and answering every question I had this year on how to grow a Big One. I'm really looking foward to next year. And if any one wants any seeds email me, Ill be more then happy to send you some. Thanks again all, Brooks

Good point Brooks! Congratulations on your fine first year. I've enjoyed your diary and your enthusiasm. If you'd like, you can put a pic of your 374 est. in your diary, so we can admire it. I've been hoping to see the finished pumpkin.
Regards, Doug
