First off, congratulations Al Eaton...You are an inspiration! Second, congratulations to all at Port Elgin for attracting 9 growers with fruit in excess of 1000#'s. Not one thread congratulating Al.........What a difference from last year!!And shame on you BP.com for still not providing us with photos of the new WORLD champion.

Don't blame it on BP.com, blame it on the members for not yet submitting the pictures. Come on you Ontarians, I know you're all still likely recovering from the celebrations of taking back the World Record, but somebody post a picture or two!

Ya, there's plenty of congratulating going on... easy. As for the "shame on BP.com"?! If it wasn't for this site, hundreds or even thousands of us wouldn't be growing at all, so enough of that. Congrats Al Eaton ona new world record, and Congrats to Jack laRue as well with his 1420lb'r, breaking last years record. A helluva season!

There is no one at BP harboring any malice toward anyone. Al eaton is both a perfect gentleman (very helpful toward me this year as I was growing an 842( & the best Pumpkin grower in the history of the world. So far.
I am a photo screener here at BP. If folks who were SAT the weigh-off would send pictures, they will be released promptly. But you have to send them first.

my hat is off to everyone that stayed in or got into the thousand pound club
there are at least a dozen or more growers that had monster pumpkins this year, plus many many in the thousand lb club
dont be kissing up to al eaton at the expense of two good guys that busted there buts at there own expense to create this site
if it wasnt for this site and some of the books don langevin published this hobby would still be in the stone ages, believe me i know first hand
if you want his seed just ask for it al has been a heavy hitter for as long as i can remember he goes about his business and bothers no one
having you blow his horn does not go well with him either i bet remember theres still a big weigh off this weekend out west
after thats over im sure al will get his do dick

I'm very happy for Al Eaton, even if I don't know him personally. He's a true veteran in the sport, and has contributed so much to it, from what I've read in Don Langevin's books. It's nice he can be the world record holder for a year or more(unless there's a big surprise out west as Dick was referring to). Nothing against the Western growers, but I hope Al's record stands this year, so he can really enjoy his accomplishment.

We were so happy to have Al back in Port Elgin this year. I was so pleased to see someone post his results on bp.com while we were all up on site. Thanks as well to all our other 1000+ pound pumpkin growers. I have been getting to know the growers that come to our site and attend the International Seminar we host in March. I continue with pumpkinfest for these people. Their dedication to the sport inspires me. Ann-Marie Collins, Port Elgin Pumpkinfest Chair www.pumpkinfest.org

Ann-Marie, As a grower that attends Port Elgin yearly, I want to say thanks for another great weigh-off. You and your volunteers should be commended for all the hard work everyone puts in. The added prize money really brought Port Elgin back to being one of the top weigh-off sites. See you in March at the seminar..... Phil & Jane Hunt
