I just wanted to say congrats to all of the growers that reached there personal best this year, I hope that Al Eatons world record holds up. I know that Al has been growing for a long time has come very close in the past. way to go Al.
Well as most of you know I said I was going to hang it up earlier in sept when my biggest fruit went down for the 5th straight year. well I'm coming out or retirement lol I'm sorry that I post such nosense from time to time I take this sport pretty serously like most all of us pumpkin growers.
Well the 2005 season has begun if you think about it is there ever a time of the year your not doing or thinking or testing, sending out something seed request, soil test patch amendments, cleaning out the old vines.
Good luck to everyone this up coming season and grow them big. mark

Good words Mark.

Congratulations to all the growers who met their goals as well as all of those who learned something that will help them next year. Every failure is a chance to improve on a process if we listen to what Nature is saying.

The vines are cleared, the amendments have been applied & tilled under, & the Winter Rye should germinate by Tuesday.

For myself, removal of another Norway Maple & it's light, air, water, & nutrient robbing properties is high on the list of priorities.

The mailing labels are on my desk. The envelopes are here too. Bubbles on Monday.

Let the winter games begin!
