there has been so much going on here lately with the weigh offs and everything i have completely lost track of how my fellow growers have done.. so how big did yours get?? i'm guessing mine was around 100lbs since our weigh off use the old fashion redneck way of weighing "we just pick them up to see which one is the heaviest"

My big max only got to about 28lbs, due to um, a fatal main vine snap. So much for growing it right next to the house..... (Farmer Tom, at least you beat me!)

My first year produced one at 184 lbs, 178 lbs, and 117 lbs, many more in the 80 - 100 lb since mmy patch of AG was 48 x 60 i planted according to the instructions on the packet. With my largest grown on a 10 x 10 area of the patch. Planted 68 seeds this year in the patch. I guess a little overcrowded. I will know better next year. Boy we carved a lot of Jack-o-Lanterns, kids had fun drawing the faces. Tom

The biggest pumpkin for me was the 378 lber, Of which i only got 140 seeds out of!! The secound one was 250 lbs...It rotted from a steam split! The next two were 150 lbs...I used it at a halloween party and,It is on its way out now :( And the last one was 135....And the kids brought that one to its demise.....All these pumpkins were grown on three different plants in 300 square feet of room ....Believe it or not !

I forgot to give my weights earlier, 519# from my Sawtelle 746# clone (Officail 1st place Spokane fair "Yea"), 608# UOW from my Holland 1026 (sound punpkin just no scale).
Last, but my personal best by 114#, my 644# (Official @ Canby)Gadberry from 2000. I have some great seeds to give away but am a little concerned about all the "Seed Whores" out there making a profit from our generosity...

10/29/2001 10:31:24 PM

hey you

Greencastle, PA

you should give them to this site, I don't think there are any "Seed whores" (courtisy of kilr) here. Gads, don't forget to give kilr his royalty. lol.
