As a result of a heavy frost, my poor little (and I stress little) pumpkin plants are wilted and dead. Is the vine dead too? Is there any benefit to keeping the pumpkins on the vine, or should they be cut off and stored in my garage to see if they'll survive for carving at Halloween?

Did the pumpkin get frosted to...If so that is not a good thing..Otherwise I would cut it from the vine give it a good wipe down with a 10% bleach solution. Store it in a cool dry place until needed. Every once in a while wiping it down again.

Pumpkins were covered, it's just the plants themselves that have kicked the bucket on me.
