I was in Costco yesterday and noticed they had received a new shipment of GBWR. I opened it up to see what they had in there for pumpkins and squash...
Pumpkin: 1337 Houghton 02 Squash: 962 Hoult 97
What's up with that? In 2003, FOUR qualifying pumpkins were grown heavier than that. There's LOTS of squash ("true green" and "not-so-true-green") that have grown heavier since then, too.
Has anybody been in contact with Guiness about this? The most published book in the world should at least publish the truth...IMHO.

It takes 6 months and mounds of documentation to get into the Guinness Book and I believe it is updated every 2 years.

Oh. That's weird. I would think that the documentation burden would be on the publishers, since they are the ones who profit from the record holders.

Kutsky would know, he was in there in 2000 (Well, Gerry and he were!) Next book out will be brought up to the 1385 Daletas, just in time to be broken again this year (And it will go down in 2004)
