Are there any regulations regarding importing A.G. seeds into the U.S.? It seems like the seeds I ordered from Howard Dill had a record of being inspected, sent with the seeds. I'm thinking of requesting seeds from a Canadian grower. Will that grower need to to get inspection papers? Have any of you had your seeds confiscated at the border?

A set of rules went into effect in January of this year. It was supposed to restrict seeds. Since then I have received seeds from several Canadian growers. I think they are required to fill out some forms that weren't there last year, but other than that, none of the people who sent me seeds had any problems.
One of the packages I received got "sampled" at the border, and the seed package was rifled through, but everything was put back into place and set along its way, and my memory tells me the seeds were only delayed a few days. I think its because they were gifts, and were sent in hobby amounts. Just a guess, though.

What's really funny is that Dill told me many of his seeds come from the States to begin with.
