Ok Cooker69, I seen you sneaking around my patch again tonight just make sure you read the posted sign.

"Guard Dog on Duty"

If you think I'm kidding take a look at my last diary posting and you'll see exactly whats on the other side of the fence you were peaking through. She might look friendly but I guarentee you she'll take a piece off you in a heart beat.

I wouldn't let the wife catch you either...

This is your last and only warning....

Just to let all you other Western Canadian Growers in particular know exactly who this "cooker69" is, read below.

I'll try to keep this short as not to take up to much resources from the BP.com website, but I feel you guys
mainly ones that go to smoky lake should know about him.

Cooker69 is Dean Cook from Moose Jaw.

From what I have found out this is his second year growing he apparently grew a 198lb last year.

Well this guy will stop at nothing to find out everything he can about growing these giants. I have seen him peeking into my patch numerous times.

Just to let you know how persistent this guy is, during our pumpkin lifting the other night(he works at CP rail behind our house) he takes a unit (engine) drives it down the tracks behind my house so he can see over my fence and what is going on.

I know he is growing this year, apparently a 1230 Daletas offspring, yep he doesn't even know what offspring.

He has one plant going at his house in a (you might have to read this part twice) roughly 150 sq. ft. patch and this soil he has is nothing but straight gumbo clay.

His pumpkin he has on is roughly 120 lbs right now. Yep he didn't even pollinate till near the first of August.

I also know he has dug this sucker up 3 (no typo) times and re-postioned it, which by the way he didn't even get started till the end of May. One of these places was smack up side a south facing fence, yes he was on the north side of this fence.

This guy has so many things going against him this year I'm surprised he hasn't washed his hands of this sport and tried making pottery like his soil would be good for.

Well he hasn't and he first came into my yard this spring, some of the things mentioned above was not intentional or chalk it up to being a begginer.

Wish he had of come by last fall and not been so worried I would tell him to get lost.

Well some of you guys must be scratching your head, well this is my little way of welcoming him to our tight little growing circle of growers that go to smoky lake from outside that area.

Dean like I mentioned earlier knows absolutely nothing or very close to that about growing but I think he has learned alot this year and he has two key ingredients to becoming a grower to be reccond with.

One the man has DRIVE regardless of what gets thrown at him, he has been bitten very badly with this bug and is a fanatic addicted grower, Two he has myself and all of you to lean on and hone his growing skills.

I kid you not folks this guy is the real pumpkin growing MCCoy. I'd watch out for him in future years I think he may just put us to shame, myself included.

I met a great friend this year and in my own City he gets along good with the rest of the family and mine with his, our two girls have also become very close friends, and he has the cutest dog I have ever seen (pictured in my diary under patch security)

Welcome aboard Dean you have been a very good friend this year and thanks for the help around our house with our re-construction. You have trully done a super job this year, keeping anything alive in your situation is excellent.

You will kick some butt next year with all your planned changes, maybe even mine.

Please guys introduce yourself to Dean either in this poost or at his email address [email protected]

Pics of Dean posted in my diary, you guys will be meeting him at the weigh-offs in Smoky Lake...

Dean
Well what can I say, Welcome aboard this rollercoaster. There are more good days than bad and a bad day pumpkin growing is still better than a good day at work.
Hope to meet you at Smokie Dean

Mr.Giant Veggies!!!!!,seems to me that you've had one too many wobbly pops!Let,s set the record straight.I met you on the set of KINK,here in Moose Jaw,where i referred to you as Dirty Ernie.Don't you remember Big Boy????All you could talk about was your big stem!!!!HE HE HE.Payback is a real *itch hey Pal!!!.Kidding aside,I have had the time of my life this season and I am greatful to you Ernie for putting up with all of my dumb questions, silly ideas, brain farts, etc, etc, etc. You are a first class grower and I have got the utmost respect for you, especially the cards that you were dealt this season.Completely flooded basement,Hail, more hail, devastated looking plants and look what you pulled off!Unbelieveable to say the least.Just think what you would have done if you grew in a greenhouse!!I can hardly wait to go to Smoky lake and meet all of the great people that you have talked about this summer. Before I forget,Eddy,Alan,Smitty,Don't forget to ask Ernie about his upcoming Movie he did at the Spa,and if your Wives are coming to Smoky Lake, don't let them sit too close to Ernie as one minute they'll be standing there and the next they'll be on a heap on the floor!!!Gotcha again Ernie!I'd like to thank BP.com for such a great site and keep up the good work.Hope everybody has had a good year and I'll see you soon for some tasty bevy's.TTYL Ernie,Dean.

Ha Ha Ha, Boy Ernie, Ya had me going there! I Had my hair all bristled up, READY TO DEFEND DEAN!!,LOL, then the post took a turn, ROFLMAO, Dean, I don't know you well, other than I know through our email visiting, that You seem like the type of guy who could be a really good friend to have around. I know that I wait for and enjoy every email from you and your family and a feller don't get things said about him like Ernie has said, unless he is one hell of a good man, Folks, Dean has sent me musings and photo's, shared his UP's and Down's and I consider him one of my Best friends, and hope someday we meet, Someday we will have those Bevy's Dean,Eh!

Well,

How do I respond Dean, first to clear this issue up with the Kink T.V. thing, ONE I had no idea what kink T.V. was but I guess the name says it all. I only did a walk past in the background anyways. TWO, what were you doing there??? But fortunately this episode that they were filming was about two female (hmmmm....)friends. (snicker).

The "Mr. Giant Veggies" thing that's funny I could have swore I told you to call me Mr. Pearce.

The "dumb questions, silly ideas" thing well your a new grower and you don't know so they aren't dumb or silly and with the brain farts, well if the shoe fits...

Heap on the floor, ya ok buddy. I wasn't the one that was having multiple ex-girlfriends calling my house this year. I can't believe your gorgeous wife Annie put up with it. Speaking of gorgeous Eddy's daughter Jennifer is a real looker stay away from her or you will have to deal with the ice-man, Smitty keep an eye on your wife also. (hey smitty is your sister coming this year, email me privately).

Phil:

Dean doesn't need defending or help unless he was stuck in a wet paper bag, what help I can think he might need is from a good psychiatrist. Like I said before his addiction to this sport is one of the worst I've ever seen or heard of.

Well got to run, the wife is going to give me a spunge bath. (ssswwweeeeeettt...)

Just to let you other growers know, Dean and I have come up with some great ideas for next season (ROFLMAO already). I won't say what it is but to give you a hint think of what you would get if Bob and Doug McKenzie grew giant pumpkins.

We were thinking of calling it Dean and Ernie's extreme growing. Ya don't want to miss this. Should be funnier the H E double L.
