As the leaves begin to change colour and start to fall, I noticed that the leaves on our maple tree in our front yard are completely covered with powdery mildew. I usually go over all the leaves with my lawn mower and then add them to the garden and till them in.
My question is: "Should I be concerned with the presence of PM or not?"
I am aware that PM is an airborne issue but wonder whether purposly adding to your garden soil may be an issue that should be avoided.
Thanks/Glenn

PM spores of the sort we're concerned can only survive on a live host. There will bo no infection next year caused by using Powdery Mildew infected leaves this year.
