I was reading that you could channge the color of your squash by rubbing oil on them!!!! I have several pumpkins that just dont need it ,,, but others im considering??? Is there some slang refering to when someones crazy enough to "RUB ONE OUT" ?? : GREASER. GREASE MONKEY, OILER , POLISHER, gRASS HOPPER! ECT.

If you are planning on competing, watch it. Some contests won't allow oil or polish on the pkns or squash. Otherwise, Lemon Pledge works nicely to shine them up a bit. I don't know if it would change their color.

Olive Oil on a squash will darken it up. Olive Oil on a squampkin will bring out the green. If you do this you must wash it well before weigh off or they will be DQ'd. I find if you rub them with a smooth cloth they polish up well with their natural waxes.
