Had to pick it because it was getting soft.Took it and had it weighed then showed it off a bit.It came in at 977 pounds, not bad for first year.It was pretty rotten on the inside so it might have weighed more a couple of weeks ago.Only a couple hundred seeds that are good, but still very happy.!!! Good luck to everybody else.!!!!

So let me get this straight.... The 4 grandparents are the 723 Bobier, 845 Bobier, 846 Calai, and the 712 Kuhn?
Can you say wow! Those seeds are going to be hot!
Congrats..

Awesome job, Marty!
Those seeds have some good genetics for sure! Set aside a few for me!
Best wishes, Martin

Congarts Marty! Too bad it went down for you, imagine you could have another 3 weeks in front of you... The 996 is the reverse cross of the 1260 which both together should be a nice couple for crossing, I´m looking for that in 2005. P&P is already out of 996 or just waiting to raise the price I don´t know:-)

Iowa has had a Canadian summer this year.

Canadian Summer? Clarify a little, someone on the East Coast may see this as getting rain 23 hours a day 6 days a week from the last frost in June, while someone from Alberta might see this as getting 15 cm of snow in September.

seedy one, what a first year! Great work!
Much of the midwest has been below average temperatures and above average rainfall. Cool nights and moderate daytime temps.

Yea, first year and almost a 1000 pounder, just think what he might grow the next couple years to come. Good job seedy, you got my rookie of the year vote. Brooks
