I also grew the 1074 Beauchemin this year.
From the start it has been the most voracious eater - gobbling every nutrient around and producing by far the most enormous, healthy plant my patch has ever hosted. It is far happier than the other plants that got identicle treatments.
BUT - it blew out every fruit before any had reached 100lbs. I so hoped for a monster but it won't be from my patch this year.

I think I found the answer to my question. 898 Knause X 790 Deletas(00) My new question is, what is the cross of the 790 Delatas(00)?

Glad to hear the 1074 got planted. David Hancock from Oregon says he has a beauty going on it too. I planted two and just lost one to a stem split. I took it to the local county Fair last week and had it weighed. It was 49 days old and taping 589lbs. It weighed 710lbs... Gotta be the traits of the 898 Knauss. Good luck and keep me posted...

jim your right on regarding the 898 knauss crosses we have several growers in ri that planted seeds from our 845x898 and 898x845 crosses of 2003 and all have very dense pumpkins ( purdy dont count ) unless you going for the most photogenic award
