Oh come on, surely you would not deny a fellow pumpkin grower a little fame....If anyone is really serious, the first place prize is a ribbon and a mere $10...Unfortunately, the contest is only for residents. But theer is a big one in Allardt Tn the first weekend in Octwhere the 1st prize is $300 and last years winner was about 780 # give or take. Gonna go there to see, nothing to enter for this year.

I know of a 700#+ going to Allardt, if it holds up. The guy has won it 3 times there.

Finially got a chance to let yall know the results of the contest I entered, won first place., pumpkin weighed 453 pounds...not bad, second place was 150 something. The guy who won second was the one who complained last year of no competion...of course, he said he had a bigger one at home.....supposidly over 500 lbs...had fun and now I just look at it still on the trailer...
Hoping to go to Allardt only about 1 1/2 hr drive...perhaps next year I can give Wallace Simmons a run for the money....hahahaa...just good humor.
