newbie here..where can you buy captan..??
I feel that I may need to patch some cracks..

you may want to rethink using captan as a patch

the darn stuff never dries out and will sit there damp and could increase your chances of soft spotting

the best thing for cracks is to spray a 20 percent solution of bleach and water -- or any good fungicide on the crack then put a fan on it to dry it up

I agree with Pap. I have used bleach solutions for two years now with 100% success. You can also seal the crack with silicone caulking.
