Thanks, Wayne. It was nice to meet you. I have to thank Phil Joynson (Cowpie) and all the people on Big Pumpkins for their help this year. I'm going to get a new PB with two pumpkins. Considering the crappy weather, I have to say I'm very pleased with my results. See you in Port Elgin.

Wayne & Phil Good luck to the both of you on new PB's. It's looking like Port Elgin will attract a fair bit of attention this fall. My chances are getting slimmer and slimmer with each passing day. But I too have had what I consider to be a good year. Six pumpkins over 500 pounds and two good large ones that should get into the top ten. I also have a good sized squash I hope to bring.

How are the other Heavy Hitter Ontarians doing. Eaton and Papez in silent mode. Lurking out there are a bunch of big growers Gervais, Myers, Catapano, McCallum, Dueck, Lyons, Cheam and many others.

Thanks, Russ. I have been following your diary and you have done a great job on your pumpkins. This year could be one of the most competitive ones in years. I'm quite pleased with my results whether I'm in the top ten or not. Good luck to everyone. I hope to see you at the weigh-off.

Who says that nice things don't happen to nice people? Way to go Phil but I still think Jane is the brains behind your success :0) . I predict that Doug Gardner will be the next Ontario grower that breaks into the big leagues next season with a little bit of help.
Hey Wayne... you seem to have this giant pumpkin thing worked out pretty good! Your going to amaze a few people in Port Elgin. I'll be bringing a crying towel to the Howell weigh-in. Do you want me to pick you up some of that pumpkin fudge that they gave out last year? It's the only thing I'll be bringing home :0( . At least it's really good fudge.

Phil, your right about Jane, she is the one with the brains. I don't know why she married a dirt push'in hillbilly like me. Keith, thanks for the kind words. I was at Doug's place today and he has a nice one (600+) in his garden. I'm with Cowpie, I think Doug is on the verge of going big. This is his first year growing at the new house and with a few more amendments to his patch, watch out. See ya'all at Port Elgin, bright and early.....Phil
