I was wondering if I can use 1/2 inch copper pipe for my misters (last year I used plastic pipe) I didn't know if there would be ill effects.

copper doesnt rust, but depending on the amount if Oxygen in the water, you might get oxidation, and possibly cause copper toxicity, but I dont think it would be a problem, most gardens are low in copper, and the amount of Copper Oxide would be minimal, so I think copper pipe would be ok

The water will go through 2 filters before it goes through the pipe, the filters take out all iron & chlorine & slows the flow rate so not to blow the misters out.
By the way its me " huffs pumpkins" I'm at my brothers house answering this.....Paul

Yo Paul,
Copper won't oxide it will only sulphate and copper sulphate is a fungicide which has been used for over 100 years...its used against mildew and blight...although I think higher authorities have banned it now. When you see green on copper..that is copper sulphate.

Linus, I have been a refrigeration/electronics tech for years. There will be no ill effects from plumbing in your misting/irrigation with copper. I allways use PVC because it's so much eaiser to work with, and remove/modify, no tourches involved!!!
