Any guesses as to how many 1000 lb+ fruit will grown this year? YR #of fruit >1000 2001 = 26 2002 = 49 2003 = 89 2004 = ?
I am guesstimating that there will be:
pounds #of fruit 1000 71 1100 32 1200 9 1300 8 1400 2 1500 0 total 122

I agree, but I'm pretty sure there will be at least one above 1500.

My guesses: These will be for official fruits, and not exhibitions. 1400-1500 lb.--4 1300-1400 lb.--11 1200-1300 lb.--18 1100-1200 lb.--28 1000-1100 lb.--41 for a total of 102 pumpkins over 1000 lbs. The largest fruit I guess will be 1485 lbs.

I predict a much lower number, that is, for official fruits. In the northeast area, there have been some splits on some big fruits that would have gotten close or over the 1000 pound mark. My guess for 1000 pounders (official) would be in the 50 range.

I agree... we may actually see a slight decrease this year. there's been disasters all over the place, along with some pretty cold weather.

I agree Stan. Things were ripping along until this last two weeks with heavy, cold rain. But at least I've grown a nice crop of PM to compensate for the slowing down of the pumpkin.
