Are any of you having a *good* season?

I'm curious because from what I've learned here on BP, almost everyone seems to be having a horrible time with the weather.

We've been having "awful" weather here as well, but from what I've read it *should* be better weather for growing pumpkins.

I think we only had a couple of days where it was close to 100 degrees and most days aren't even at 90 -- sans heat index. We do need more rain, tho.

Just wondering,
Roan

Fact # 1 We all like to bitch about the weather. It is a commonality for all of us & something that we can all chime in on.

Fact # 2 Sandbaggers are out there (everywhere)

Fact # 3 There are many other growers out there that VIEW ONLY & do not post.

Most likely you will have to wait a little longer to find out how good the year was. Go to your local weigh off in Oct. & you will be amazed at the size of fruit that some have brought.
There is no correlation of the size of fruit and the amount of complaining going on.
(maybe an exception to this rule this year might go to Colorado - (doubt it) and Germany but we shall see)

We are fast approaching the NERVOUS time of year & most people get pretty tight lipped.

The rumor wagon will get rolling along soon.
Heck there are only 32 days left til 10/2.

Never fails...
I bet we will see 1400 lbs get broken (easily) and MAYBE get very close to that elusive 1500 pound mark.
You wait and see.

I agree with Ceis 100%. I have had good weather in west Ky. I am a first year grower and I will have 2 over 400lbs easy and two over 500lbs.My 339 Little plant has one on a main over 500lbs , one on a secondary about 200lbs and one on a secondary off of the rear main about 300lbs and they are still packing on the pounds. I havent gotten to take care of them like they should have and they still have done better than I ever imagined. My biggest complaint with the weather is too much rain , but it has saved me alot of work as far as watering it just has been to muddy to keep the weeds out.
