Can I bring a pumpkin entered at a fair into Half Moon Bay? What are the ethics on the same pumpkin in two contests. I expect the fair will write the weight of it on the pumpkin with a black marker. OK? Or no...

There's nothing wrong with bringing the same pumpkin to two different events. It happens all the time. Its when the pumpkin weighs more when weighed at the second event than the first that the problems start. Pumpkins aren't supposed to get heavier after you cut them off the vine you know.

Some weigh offs do not allow pumpkins weighed at previous events to be entered for cash prizes at theres. Minnesota and Wisconsin for instance are a week apart. You can not enter fruit from the Minnesota weigh-off in the Wisconsin one and be eligble for a cash prize.

Okay, here is a question.. What about weighing in two fruits, one for the contest, the other for exhibition, lets say, on September 26th. The one you consider exhibition (which didnt count toward the weigh off) is still eligible for GPC contest, or not? Good ethics question here.

I know Half Moon Bay is close to you but if you are not over 900 don't even bother. Also I have heard that if you win you need to have the pumpkin stay all week. The "big boys" come down from Oregon and Washington to Half Moon Bay.
