Got a Question , Does too much rain have any effect on the growth of pumpkins that are around the 15-20 day mark? like could too much water in the soil cause the fruits to abort or should it be ok? I am down to only ONE fruit growing and its currently at day 14 with an OTT of 80" its been growing around 6-7 " these past 5 days. Temps outside are still in the high 20's day and night but the soil is so saturated that the water is just sitting on top of the soil now. and they are calling for around 35 cm of more rain all today then warm and dry for rest of week.
can fruit this young take that much water being held in the soil for a few days?

Uggh. Too much water can literally drown the roots (no oxygen in the soil).

Ya thats what i'm worried about, I was out there last night and dug a small trench from were all the water is sitting to run it out of the patch. suppose to clear up overnight and warm and dry next 5 days so hopefully the weatherman are right on this call thanks Dave
