Colorado Hail, CO. Elev. 5,900 FT

The Madman weather service has issued a severe HAIL WARNING for persons growing in either state... forcast models have shown possible mega hail storms possibly developing in both states. These storms will be capable of producing large and damaging hail, some of which will be slow moving storms capable of ruining your patch... if you are a grower in either state, take precautions now before the storms to secure your plants and property. Keep an eye to the sky and go to your local weather site to keep updated through the afternoon...

No snow here yet, that stuff is up a little higher in elevation. I'm not that high, we are at 5,900 feet here, they are supposed to get a lot of white stuff this weekend. Colorado has a great variation in elevations... anywhere from 14,000 ft down to 3,900 feet. Joe Scherber is around 4,700 { I think }, Pete Glazier is probably around 6,200 from what I know of his area. This must be the hardest state to grow anything in...

Better to be warned than to be scorned.....
Hope everyone made it through that mess OK!

We got 1/14 of rain today {yes, JUST rain for a change... none of the "H" word stuff}! This is cold rain... temp is at 49.5 at the time of this post. They are calling for snow above 9,000 feet, and {gasp} isolated localized frost around the front range area tonight. Frost in August???
.....Here? Nawwwwwww...........
