How old is the average AG when it reaches basketball/soccer ball size? Hrm, is a soccer ball bigger than a basketball? Dunno :)

Anyhow, I'm asking 'cause my main Big Max is 11 days old and is bigger than an official soccer ball. I'm real proud of her :) I just want some sort of reference so I can tell how well she is doing.

My other one on the same vine after Hortense -- Bertha -- is 6 days old is isn't even near the size Hortense was at 6 days and she seems to be growing REAL slow. Actually, Hortense was 3 times larger.

I already cut Gertrude off that vine. She was inbetween Hortense and Bertha. I was trying to grow at least 2 per vine, but now I'm wondering if Bertha should get the axe as well.

Kinda obvious that Hortense is a pig and hogging all the good stuff.

Thanks
Roan!

Pumpkins are sort of like dating.

Up to day 10 size doesn't matter at all.

Up to about 20 days size doesn't seem to matter too much.

After day 30 size is everything.

Awww, c'mon :) Be a sport! A ball park average! A guess!

Currently she is growing at about 1.3" per day. That's based on real rough estimates comparing her when she reached softball size and when she reached soccer ball size -- 12.5" to 28".

If she keeps that up she should be about 55.9" or 4.7 feet in circumference. Interesting. I had guessed a weight of about 60 pounds and when I look at the AG chart on the site here, 56" is about 61.2 pounds. Huh!

Anyhow, I'm not looking so much for weight as size. Her innards mean nothing to me! NOTHING! MUahahahhaha!

Sowwy. I think the blow-back from the fertilizer has been absorbed into my brain.
