My pumpkin has only gained like 15lbs in almost 11 days. i was reading that powdery mildew can slow growth. there is a little on the start of the plant that i have been trying to control. will the mildew stop growth or is my season of growing coming to an end. there is about 15-20 feet of vine past the plant that is really healthy and growing strong but the pumpkin isint. i feed with peters 20 20 20 but the nights here are somewhat cold(in the 50's). any help would be great.. thanks yomama

Spraying for PM will not remove it from affected leaves, but will hopefully stop or retard it's spread. PM is a slow working disease. Once your fruit growth stops completely, the pumpkin is pretty much done growing.

That is where I am at now Jim. PM is starting to take over my plant, this is the worst year for it, rain rain rain.. no hot weather to dry out the patch.. Yet, I am lucky enough to have had most of the big growing behind me as I saw this time frame coming with the wet summer. Only question for me is this now.. What is the est weight on my fruit if my OTT is 336 inches? I read a post this past weekend comparing different years of different charts with Stellpflug and Marcellus. Which do we go by?
