Dave, keep it disinfected daily with 10% bleach solution and water. Should be no problem for you. You need to think about using calcium chealate or calciun nitrate to build the walls of the fruit and keep it growing.

The blossom end, does that usually fall off?,Im talking about the hard stick looking thing not the flower it self. I havnt had one fall off yet. Dave its pretty common for the place around the stem to leak a little, but not common for it to leak say like gallons, lol When mine started leaking that gummy clear stuff around the stem stem I put captans on it real thick kinda like paste. I havnt had any trouble since. I still keep my eye on it every day though, a good rain will wash it off if ur pumpkin isnt covered real good.
Kahuna i read somewhere that a guy will mix a half tbls of grandular 0-0-60 to a gallon of water and desolve it and use this to spray on the pumpkin skin, U ever hear of this? I know i wouldnt try it,lol Brooks

Dave, call around to the Co-ops in your area. I found Calcimax 8-0-0 at the Bradford co-op. You will not find it at your garden centre or nursery store. Towels placed directly on the fruit soaked and dripping wet in a solution of 1 or 2 table spoons to the gallon. Foliar in the same ratio too as often as every third day I believe. You can also use calcium nitrate 15-0-0.

I believe that Steve has reported the dosage can be increased with each usage as well. You may want to consult with him for more accurate info.
