RoundUp does a nice job too. Powdery Mildew control by starvation.

I'm sorry big one. Fighting PM here this year has been a bear. And the subject has been covered here on the boards nearly to death. I am soooo sick of thinking & typing about it. LOL There must be 20 threads about PM here this year & not much has changed in the past week.

All of the labeled fungicides do a good job. Coverage is key so a good surfactant is a VERY helpful. Be sure to spray under the leaves. Special nozzles are available to make this much easier. Read Kyle's (Southern) diary of this year or mine from last year to see the nozzle. These sell for about $25.

Gas powered mist blower backpacks are good for larger patches & will save time & probably prevent misses. Just don't rip the leaves off the plants with the thing. About $500 for a good one. Stihl is nice.

Myclobutanil (Eagle, Nova or the consumer fungicide Immunox) consistantly performs the best in commercial & university trials. This is a DMI "systemic" (sic) fungicide.

Bayleton & Banner are both also in the same chemical family & also kick butt on PM. Also DMI's.

Contrary to popular belief, copper based fungicides aren't labeled for nor very effective at controlling PM, but are very good for other diseases.

Daconil is only useful as a preventive. Though it does make a nice companion to the systemic DMI's listed above.

Soaps & Oils make the powder fall off which makes the grower happy. But the leaf is still damaged & won't recover any faster for the effort. Indeed it won't recover at all.

Once Powdery Mildew gets in front of you the battle to check its spread is a tough one. Once a leaf is damaged, it's damaged for good. Necrotic leaves cannot be made productive again.
