nice list ... but why does "onion" need 5 decimal places while "artichioke" and other don't have any ?

Where did that squash record come from? If you go by GPC standards then it's 1367.5. If you want real green ones I think it's 990.

guinness book 1977-2005 and newspaper articles. the squash record 963 is the one listed in guiness book the the 1367.5 and 990 did not meet the guinness reporting requirements i guess. the long gourd record 110 5/8 in by ray waterman

g1t reason for the decimals is because oz's and fraction of oz's have been converted from faction to decimal.

Joe do you have a nice field pumpkin going? I have an 86 Wells that is huge... Plus a field of Welty's large field pumpkin offspring.

that is because most people don't keep track field pumpkins. There you need check weighoff results from the weighoff webpages to find out. I don't have time look. here altoona bigest.
Field Pumpkin - 2001 - Greg Carrico - 53.5 altoona

Now see, if I knew that field pumpkins had to go to the weighoff, I'd have shown up in 2002. Weighed mine at the trucking company 92.-- lbs, darn !!

Shannon- ya, i got a couple of beauts on the 84 welty...they are taping 64" circ right now (~86lbs). I'll be bringing my largest to nekoosa to weigh, just for fun. WHo knows, it may be heavier than my AGs.

I have heard of 105 Giffen coming out of Ohio, and I think either a 113 or 118. Welty might know, or some other grower in Ohio.
