Just have one fruit. Do they gain/grow fast? Seems like it's late in the season for this to be sizeable???

now, that's a good nickname! "pumpitup" say it about 30 times real fast.,lol. what kind of pumpkins are you growing? concerning Atlantic Giants, once they are past the beachball-sized period of their growth, they can attain rates as high as 40-45 pounds a day. that would be the higher end of the scale. haven't seen that myself, but heard of it! on the other hand, a more sane growth rate of 25-30 pounds a day is more common, and less likely to cause the fruit to split open from growing too quickly.
it takes all kinds. eg-
i had one grow to 510.5 last year, poll'd on 8-2, h'd 9-27. i shoulda keept better records. lol.
