I posted a pic of my stem split the other day, As of today, the bottom of the stem split also. So now I have a stem split on top & bottom. My season is over isn't it? Sav

Not necessarily. Link to picture? Captan/fan treatment has worked miricals before. Is there a void into the cavity of the fruit? Is the split area dry?

stick a peice of straw or hay into the split if it hits something its o.k: Get a small oscalating fan on the area prop it up so it doesant fall over during work time if ya cant find Caption use garden sulfer dry dust it with a small 1" paint brush getting as far into the split area as possible.Make sure you have a good shade cover over the pumpkin so it doesant get wet and short out the fan, also so the split area keeps dry.Good luck.John

Had two pumpkins on my Whittier 1458 both with blossom end splits right into the cavity culled one and plugged the hole in the other with a piece of pumpkin cut from the culled one then sealed up the plug with silcon, that was two weeks ago and the pumpkin has put on alot of weight since then.
