Wel after being out of town for 7 days arrived home last night to see my pumpkins that were golf ball size when i left pollinated on aug 5th are now larger then softballs almost the size of small basketballs they are growing really well. Only concern i'm haveing the first TRUE leafs are starting to brown up and die from the stump on out
is this normal for this time of year or what?
thanks

If Powdery Mildew is taking them down, then a fungicide program is in order. But old age finishes off a lot of otherwise healthy leaves now too. This is when backtraining a couple tertiary vines might make YOU feel better & shade the weeds that start to happen in the newly sunlit area around the main.

Ya by the looks of it it could possibly be powdery mildew
I sprayed all the plants tonight after dinner in hopes to stop or at least slow the spread.

Hi Dave I in the same league as you I'm a new grower to. I have had the same problem with my biggest plant to. All the First true leaves are long gone and some of the others died off along the vine but it stopped now. Don't think you have to worry. Got a pumpkin set on there last week of July and it is the size of a beach ball. Good luck
