Brooks,

Have you applied any fertilizers or micronutrients as a floiar spray? If nitrogen containing liquids are allowed to sit on the skin of young fruit the can cause the condition you describe. This is why wraps are desirable to foliar Calcium on fruit. It doesn't "bead up" when wrapped.

If the fruit is over 30-45 days it might just be starting to "canteloupe". This might look almost woody.

There are also some fruit disease that make "brown spots".

There is something wrong with the photo cache of the BP websire right now so images can't post. Send a photograph by email until the issue is worked out.

Tremor, my pumpkin is about 55 days old,I applied a light mix of Ortho Garden Disease with Daconil over the pumpkin last night, I remember you talking about using a light coat of Daconil over the pumpkin in a post somewhere on here ''I think?''
And it does look "woody" that you described. That was the exact word I was looking for this morning to describe this problem when I wrote this post. And since my pumpkin is a really light yellow this woody look stands out more then it would on a orange color pumpkin im sure . Also, Im pretty sure this pumpkin is done growing, Im going to give it a couple more days and hope that a miracle is going to happpen and it starts to gain 20lbs a day again. LOL, I WISH!! Total 0TT on this pumpkin is 299.
Thanks alot,
Brooks

This sounds like cantelouping which is a sign that the outward growth is ending. It might still gain weight however as seeds mature & the wall thickness may increase. I would continue to keep the plant as healty & stress free as possible even if it appears to have stopped growing.
