hi all i got a question?i was going threw my records tonight and i realized that my two biggest punkins 901hebb and710gipe are only 14 days old (since pollination)punkin set anyway they are both a little over 100pounds is this average poor or am i doing ok?i am just curious. burrhead

I would say excellent. Just went through my data for the past five years and my biggest at 14 days was 28 lbs. Here is the link to Checkons big 1131 and 1190, as you can see you well ahead of those pumpkins at 14 days as well. At 17 days one of them was 67# and at 18 days the other was 49#. http://www.pgpga.com/growth.htm

Wow, my best 15 day weight was 70lbs. You have great early growth, I hope you can keep it going. That 901 Hebb should give you one nice looking pumpkin.

It all depends on where on lives as to the expectant growth rates. I used to get all concerned when I would hear stories of 100# or even 70# in 14 days. I was asking Geneva Emmons during the summer of 2001, "Will a record pumpkin come out of the Pacific Northwest ever again?" That year she set the record at 1262 pounds.
