Is it a good idea to cover AG with towel or blanket? At temps should we do this? At what temps should we take off.

I cover my fruit from 14 days on at all times with a sheet, then at 500 or so lbs put on a nice light blanket all stay on them at all times. Then I put a canopy over the top of those.

I'm wondering if just covering mine with blanket or sheet would take the place of using a tarp. I've only used a sheet so far. I realize the tarp would protect from hail, are there any other advantages?

Sheets work just fine, ya' just gotta be aware that rain wets the stem which could cause probs if allowed to stay that way for extended periods.

I´m happy I put my 2 keepers on wooden paletts with some styrofoam earlier in the season. So they rest a few inches above the soil and are never exposed to wetness or the cooler temps on the soil surface. Seems to help so far. Plastic shading around keeps fruit and stem dry.
