I have a genetic cross pumpkin that is going soft on the blossom end. How many days would be the minimum to get a viable seed?

I think the general consensus of opinion is 45 days.Ray

Do seeds continue to mature even after picking? My pumpkin is about 35days old. I am displaying it in the fair on the 27th of this month. Real nice pumpkin great round shape. It is 300lbs. I hope that the seeds will be ready to be harvested by the time I carve! Will it stay good till halloween? Maybe that is too much to ask! My favorite holliday of course!!! Doeski

I've germinated seed that were less than 30 days old....that 45 day "rule" is not always accurate.
