Well everyone, after some time away from the world of pumpkins, I am throughly back again and what the heck, its time to start the rumor wagon rolling..... Here is what I have heard (remember on the rumor wagon, not everything thats is riding on the wagon is true, but its those things that might be true that is scary) 1. Beware the Big O....no, not what your thinking you dirty minds, Ottawa, Ohio, and Oregon could see new state/province records, and we all know what that means. With multiple fruit in these areas over 700 pounds, ouch. 2. Washington is having a normal year...read into this, well, typically new PR are set every year, so plan on it. On fruit in WA could hit the 1K barrier in 10 days. 3. Cali is quiet, too quiet, but not as quiet a those New Hampshire boys and girls. Those 582's are starting to rear their ugly heads there in NH. Will we see 1500??? 4. Iowa, New York and Mass. 700 pounders linger there already as well.
I mention no names, as we all know how superstitious we are, but I will say that many of the heavy hitters chose wisely as planting time. So just what has everone else heard??????????

Iowa has had below average temperatures quite often this summer. We had one month of summer: July. Today is in the 60s... in August! If there is a correlation between warm nighttime temps and growth, it is hard to believe the rumor of a 700lber coming from this State (unless he/she got a really early start). Feel free to prove me wrong folks.
