How many other regions are being affected by the strange weather this season, as here in colorado we just got our 15th hail storm ,and some of the most severe weather yet with numerous tornados almost too close to home.We here in colo have basically had NO summer, and I wonder from what I have observed who has ?? ( besides the Pacific North west and desert areas :-)...I was just observing a weather link that shows Arctic air being shoved down most of our throats for this time of year, especially here in colo. I wonder if this pattern is going to continue for us unlucky few, and if it means an early end of the growing season with a tough winter ?? Here is that link...http://weather.unisys.com/satellite/sat_ir_enh_hem_loop-12.html

Germany has been very strange the last two years, the difference has been like night and day.

Last year was the hottest, driest year in over 70 years. By mid August we already had sets over 500 lbs.

This year we had unusually cold and wet weather in May and June. Frost hit mid June, last frost date is suppose to be mid May. My biggest set right now is 125 lbs, 375 lbs difference from last year. Summer finally arrive about 2 weeks ago, and now the prediction is for 2+ weeks of wet, cold weather. We had a Tornado in Germany this year, first time I have ever heard of that, and I have lived here since 1978.

Will our season end? No, but I predict a pumpkin of 500 lbs will win the German weighoff due to the weather. That's over 230 lbs lighter then last year.

We had hail bigger than eggs in vine growing eastern part of Slovenia yesterday. We have local storms every day, which resemble tornados. Not to mention the low temps. Or the last year seven months drought... The climate is getting nuts.
I am have no comment on the most powerful nations in the world that do not want even to consider limiting the emission of greenhouse gases. We can all but observe what the future will bring to us and our kids. It will be exciting for sure! Thanks to our manipulated and opportunistic societies. Jernej

Summer never arrived here in Wisconsin. I don't think we have had but a handful of days over 85 degrees. Now it is cold and rainy high temp today 56 degrees...Feels like April weather.

We are about 150 miles North of you, and have had cold weather most of the summer. We have only had two nights all summer where the high temperature was in the 60's. Several nights ago, it was 41 degrees. Not much precipitation, but cold most of the time.

Summer weather patterns

By Josh Larson, USATODAY.com

Question: Are there cyclical, decadal weather patterns that span multiple years? I've lived in Northern Virginia since 2000 and it seems like, since then, we've had reoccurring bouts of stormy, wet, or much cooler than normal summer weather with a few exceptions. Meanwhile, there's been a reoccurring massive ridge that lodges itself in the Western USA bringing heat and dryness from Texas to California. What leads to these conditions?
