No such animal exists yet that I know of. I think the world record pumpkin weight was 400 lbs, and that record stood for about 80 yrs, until Howard Dill developed his Atlantic Giant.

Blue Rib,
How long of a stem do you need? I believe that most stem stress and cracking problems may be caused by the grower(of any seed). I think a Mombert strain is the one for you. Nice round, orange pumpkins. Look at the offspring (Stelts 801.5, Calai 846#, etc.,etc. I think any of these strains will (and have) produced what you are after. The above seeds are getting very rare, but I think anyone would agree, their offspring has produced some of the nicest pumpkins out there!

yes, they have. I've been doing a lot of gene research and the 567 Mombert genetic strain is by far the best out of all for what you're looking for. The 1140 and 1262 are on this strain, it is only rivaled by the 935 Lloyd strain, it produced the 893, 1098, 1061, and 805 Pukos, 1131, 1190, and 815 Checkon, 1107 Girgus, 1153 Eaton, and 1260.4 Weir. There are some great strains out there, my favorite is the 567 strain due to the good looks of it's offspring along with its size. I hope this helps, Tom

the 600 uow reynolds 2000 might be a seed to try...grew 667 reynolds and 793 dopp. The 793 went 80 lbs light, not sure about the 667. The stem was long on the 667 and the color was excellent, so was the 793 dopp (i hope 793 is the right weight). The 600 reynolds 2000 coud Certainly be an option for you blue ribbon.
