Had a frost sneak in last night.I have got most the frosts this year covered did'nt expect this one. Most all leaves are gone, still have pumpkins growing that are still yellow. Will they last with only the root system to feed them.If not how long can I leave them on the vine before they go bad??Thanks Ken

Pick the pumpkins, the vine is finished. Food is made in the leaves, the roots and fruit will begin to shrivel and die without them. The pumpkins will keep better in a cool, dark, dry location with good ventilation. The yellow pumpkins will need sunlight to turn orange, also try rubbing them with vegetable oil to add color.
