Two of my seven vines had their vine tips burned in a recent heatwave. I always avoid spraying the tips so it was just the heat, vine tips in that part of the patch will have to be shaded for sure from now on when it gets that hot. Anyways, I read here somewhere that a secondary can become the new main. How do you know which secondary is becoming your main? The largest one? Do you cut off other secondaries that develop to help that one get the idea? Thanks, Kevin

The time when a secondary becomes a main is when you let that secondary grow it's oun secondaries and it also the best if it's the closest vine to the stump.(as far as I know)Good Luck!

Thanks, I noticed talk of training the secondary to become the main in other threads. However, I couldn't find an explanation of what training exactly means. Is it pruning off all the other secondaries on the original main to give the secondary you're working with the idea and extra energy to become the main? Kevin
